8β pot with drainage
Last watered 2 months ago
@Elk that's what I was afraid of. I've only watered him 1 time since I got him in May and it was not a full saturation. Worry that I might have hurt him.
@GoPlantGo Does his pot have drainage holes?
I am just beginning to have plants in my home. I donβt have a green thumb! I have prayer plant and the leaves were turning yellow. People told me, too much water!! So I went weeks and didnβt water it and guess what?!!! Leaves still turning yellow. Well, ex told me I had too much of the plant in one pot!! How was I supposed to know to separate the plants into separate pots?!!! If anyone can help me along this journey, I need all of the help I can get!!!
@GoPlantGo It is quite possible that it was overwatered. For both cacti and succulents itβs important to know that if theyβre growing in plastic pots (non-porous). It takes much longer for the soil to dry out. And cacti donβt like soggy/moist soil at all! The best pots to grow them in are Terracotta pots. They are porous and let air in and the soil can dry out quicker. But itβs still always better to check the soil for moisture before watering. I only water my cacti and succulents every two to three weeks. hope this helps!
@Elk it does, plenty of them. I might have to repot after work. Hopefully I can save him π€π€
@Ms.Persnickety thanks for the information. It make total sense, will repot today.
@FunKiekie62 how many prayer plants do you have in 1 pot?
@GoPlantGo I noticed this on one of my moon cacti. When investigating, I unpotted and discovered a hole/damage under the soil line I didn't notice when initially potted after I got it. My guess is it could be over watered, but it could also have had unnoticed damage that could have finally been affected after that first watering. The only way to know for sure either way is to unpot and check it out.
@FairyFly thanks for the info. A little back story on Free Willy....My local nursery had him on the counter with a free sign on him. He was in pretty bad shape, I took him home and he started sprouting. Now I'm worried that I hurt or even damaged him.
What should I do if he is rotted? Should I cut the sprouting and pot them?
