So I built this thing. 😅. No need to describe the layers as you can see lol. The top substrate is coco coir, pine bark, spag moss, some biochar, and a pinch of worm casting. Plants will be planted directly in the substrate, just haven't gotten there yet. But I like it so far 🌋! #happyplants #growlights #beforeandafter #diyplanter #interiordesign #lowmaintenance #terrariums #
SUPER cool! What types of plants are you thinking?
This is great! You could really make out at a craft fair or farmers market and sell a few!! ðŸŒŧðŸĶ‹
I have a thoughtful suggestion idea for your box for plants consider thinking about an addition to it for your plants benefit and that would be getting a good plant grow light.
That’s so neat! I want to do something like this
Will the wood hold up to the moisture, or will you put a liner on it?
@MamaLinne thanks! I actually picked up a mini pink fittonia, moon valley pilea, and black rabbit foot fern today 😅
@GoodLecanora84 oh jeez lol you didn't catch the cedar tree grow light I built for it
@wolfqueen hey! After a few coats of stain plus poly, I completely shelled the thing, inside and out, with epoxy lol. I could fill it with just water if I wanted to. ðŸ’ĶðŸĪĢ
@CaptainRedbeard YOU MADE THAT GROW LIGHT??!
@MamaLinne yup! I like making things lol
@CaptainRedbeard WOW!!! You did a super job on that !!👍 I love your grow light!!!!👏
Wow! That's very unique! And I LOVE that grow light! How long did it take to build all of that?
@izzyandsugar thanks! And idk how long lol. A while. It was all raw cedar from a brush pile, so it had to be stripped and whatnot. One thing that took FOREVER was making the dang stump socket and log peg. And the first housing for the light I made was just too massive so I threw it away ðŸĪĢ
