#Monstera ; my Peru has gotten leggy while recovering from sunburn during move; I took pole down & want to get it back, obviously. Currently, all my prop stations r dealing w/other β€œpatients” so do u think I could prune & pinch, using root hormone on cuttings & just add to mom plant?? I am leaning to yes but need a push over the top. Please help me here!!! I can’t wait til I have an open station any longer & since monsteras grow roots so easily, I think it will work.🫢🏼πŸͺ΄πŸ€ž

Hi Tacy, yes you can absolutely put right in soil. I might suggest not pinching tho- I would use a good sharp pair of scissors or knife (our fingers tend to squish), and be sure to cut blow a node and at least 1 leaf, and let it sit in the air for 30 minutes or so - let it dry out a bit and callous a little. Use your root hormone and pop it in the soil. Ideally, they say to plant it in peat moss and perlite, so be sure I has good drainage potting I back with the mom. And be sure to give it lots of humidity and keep the soil moist. I hope this helps!

I’m not familiar with monsteras but these few people might be able to help. 😊
@SillyPlantGirl tx Cath (btw i pinch w my pruning shear!) lol!! Ive been doubting my instincts afrer the whole sunburn thing! I repotted Majesty & Cat palm recently & growth is crazy!! Now theyre in 17β€œ fiberglass/concrete planters & i put insert in to save on plant mix (it took almost 20 qt dry of my Mollys as that was!)
@SillyPlantGirl hey girl!! My Peru is doing fine after following ur advice. Thanks so much!!🫢πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±
