Tasting monstera's delicious fruit
Have you ever tasted the fruit from a Monstera???
@AwesomePlants $2.99 Monstera deal inspired me so thought Iβd share my experience and post this interesting #FunFact since itβs probably not common knowledge (despite the name) that the Monstera Deliciosa βDeliciousβ produces edible fruits when mature in about 5 years time.
The fruit of the plant resembles a corn cob. The taste is like a pineapple + banana flavor (very tropical) with a custard like consistency.
Something for you Florida people to think about if you see some patches of wild Monstera π€ Go fruit hunting!! You wonβt find this in a grocery store and itβs pretty difficult to even buy online.
You can only eat a little at a time because of the way it ripens. Only the pieces that fall off of the Cobb are edible the rest are very bitter while green.
