Japanese maple not doing so well, too much water or too little? Diseased?

Japanese maples like bright indirect light and moist soil. It hates strong sun and drafts. It kinda freaks out when its moved so just allow it to adjust. It took mine atleast 1.5 years to get to a place where it is now doing ok. I also keep the soil covered with a cover made of coconut husk to protect the soil which i find helpful, it keeps the soil from drying out too fast and some additional insulation when it's cold.
