Struggling with geogenanthus care?

For any brave souls who have a #GeogenanthusCiliatus here is a little update on mine.

I’ve found it extremely hard to keep happy. Even on a pebble tray and next to a humidifier, the leaves got crispy and I cut most of them off. So far it’s a #NeverAgainPlant for me and does not spark joy.

Have had some success using LECA with my Calathea so I figured I’d try with the Geo and see how it goes. Has anyone else tried this?

😬 I have one. We are still getting to know each other.

But you had me at "it does not spark joy"! 🀣🀣 I can't tell you how many plants I have Marie-Kondoed right into the compost pile!

As for the leca- I think that's a GREAT idea! Keep us posted. We need a #DoesNotSparkJoy community! 🀣
@sarahsalith good luck with yours and please share if you figure out any success secrets! I’ll definitely keep you posted on the leca.
I think I stole the spark joy thing from @PlantMompy so she gets credit but I love the hashtag!
@PlantMompy - I knew we'd be fast friends! 🀣

@AnnaLovesVoting how do you keep yours happy ?
@lemrobs so far my leaves on mine are not hard like they should be but it’s not crisping up and I have humidity at 60%-80%. I also bottom water it a lot lol. So far it’s alive at least and doesn’t look terrible but we’ll see.
@sarahsalith I give all of my #doesnotsparkjoy plants away!!!! Some have been given to the compost bin πŸ˜†
@angelw1975 @sarahsalith this is the closest I have ever come to the compost pile; we’ll see if this repot saves it for me!

@RJG umm it seems happiest in a group of plants 12 hours light 60%+ humidity
@AnnaLovesVoting thanks for the input! And thank you @RJG for bringing in reinforcements!
Here’s my best shot…all my humidity lovers hanging in the bathroom for now with the humidifier set at 70
