How to fertilize Coast Lily

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Coast Lily after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

I am so curious as to what this is going to be but it is my pleasure to introduce a Lily of some kind. #newgrowth #FreshLeafFriday just watching it grow is teaching me patience.

Good morning and happy Friday ! My Lily baby has a morning surprise for me🥰 Grew her from a bulb and we are almost in full bloom 🌸 #HappyPlants #NewGrowth #PlantAddict

I found this plant growing in my yard, I didn’t know what it was. I am going to pull Lily up and put it in and pot. I will find a good spot for it, and watch it. #TigerLily

Why is she dying? Save April please! I got this flower a week or so ago and put her in a new pot. She gets sun, water, and is right next to a window, but the flowers are dying and crunchy and I’m not sure why!

When and how do I plant my Easter Lily outside? #EasterLily

Speaking of new growth.. My neighbor gifted me some of her #tigerlily bulbs last year, and the white one that I was most excited about has been *bursting* to life. I know these grow like weeds and are one of those things that are really hard to kill, but that's exactly the reason my grandmother would keep these, and only these. It's my first "bulbed" plant, and I'm surprised it's thriving so well. I moved it to a new pot today, thinking I was anticipating future growth. Apparently, I was already late, judging from this #rootporn! I can't wait to see this beauty bloom!

Is it normal for Lilies to drop all flowers/petals? I bought these two Lily variants from Home Depot, and within a week or two the plants have dropped all the petals on the flowers. 😳 #OrangeLily

Will it bloom again if the flowers fall off?

Coast Lily prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly. Use our water calculator to personalize watering recommendations to your environment or download Greg for more advanced recommendations for all of your plants.
☀️ Sunlight Needs
Coast Lily requires abundant, bright and direct light. Place it less than one foot from a window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home 🏡.
🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA at US (888) 426-4435.
💨 Humidity
Coast Lily doesn’t require additional humidity. Plants absorb most water through their root system rather than their leaves, so the best way to provide humidity for your plants is through watering the soil.
🪴 Soil
Coast Lily does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Coast Lily grows very slowly and doesn’t require added fertilizer. Replacing your plant’s potting soil once a year should provide them with more than enough nutrition. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
🌎 Native Region
Coast Lily is native to the Northern Hemisphere.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
