what up #GregGang i noticed that ALL of the #MalabarPlum trees have at least green plums on them (some have plums of all stages of ripeness) so iāve decided to make some pickles! imma go ahead and let you know i hate measuring so i didnāt do any of it. pls donāt expect measurements from me ever EVER. i took the long way home from work and got off the bus a couple stops early to gather all the unripe fruits i could. i ended up doing three jars. the two smaller ones are comprised of ONLY unripe malabar plums, the large jar has malabar plums of all ripenesses AND some unripe (and one ripe lol) #CocoPlum fruits! in addition, i found a few barely-ripe #SurinamCherry fruits. all of the fruit was #foraged outside, de-stemmed and washed under cool water. i patted them dry and scored each one with a paring knife before packing them into the jars. some of the seeds split while scoring, those i threw away bc i know the stones have some toxic weirdness that i wasnāt tryna f with. i didnāt *tightly* pack the jars but placed the fruits until the jars were full but with enough room to get the spices on there without going over the top too much. once everything was in the jar i poured boiled water that had come down in temp a bit and sealed the jars. other ingredients were: garam masala, whole black peppercorns, coriander, salt and a healthy squeeze of yellow sriracha bc i put it in literally everything. iām serious if youāve never tried it (never desperately searched for a yellow srirach plug in your area) you gotta do it. change your life amazing. i did a similar pickle with shishito peppers a while back with the yellow sriracha and they were amazing, so i have high hopes for these plums in their magic sauce. sorry for the book but, as always #ivebeensmokingplantstoo if you made it this far, lmk what food plant thing youāve always wanted to try, are going to try, have made a tradition of making or have heard about recently! (enjoy a bonus photo of these random (i think) euphorbia rubra this sleeping guy on the bus had! if heād been awake i would have asked him about them!)

so not ALL my #Ficus plants are shooting out new growth, but to be fair, the ones that arenāt are dying šš #ivebeensmokingplantstoo so iāve decided to take a buncha pics of my growing ficuses and explain who they are in my garden. photos are: #FicusShivereana (named Micus in my garden šš i let my brother-in-law name it) whose new leaf i was not personally responsible for bc it was coming in when i bought it, but the next one will be all me! second and third pics are a #FicusReligiosa named ābus stop gutter near jamunā bc i found it in a bus stop gutter near a giant #MalabarPlum that iāve harvested from beforešš all those new leaves are me! when i first brought it home, it had a little leaf that quickly shriveled and died. i assume it wanted to focus more energy on establishing roots in its new home. and iām glad it did! now sheās pushing out three new leaves at once and has grown about three inches since i adopted it 17 days ago! fourth is a #FloridaStranglerFig or #FicusAurea named āfound on a carrotwood tree near the bus stopā i donāt think i have to explain the reasoning for that šš fifth pic is a doozy! all three are #FicusAurea plants as well. biggest one at the top of the photo is called āfound on my break at workā the white-container one is called āfound otw to whole foods after workā and the smallest one actually grew from the roots stuck in the sidewalk after taking āotw to WFā so has been aptly named šš iāve added the #BohdiTree as the plant for this post bc itās my favorite at the moment hehe #FicusGang #FicusFam #NewGrowth #Ficus
