Rubber Plant
About Rubber Plant
Ficus elastica, more commonly known as the rubber tree, has a white, milky latex that is a source of natural rubber. They’ve also been shown to have excellent antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The aerial roots of the rubber tree have been used to create incredible living bridges in India. The bridges get stronger over time as the roots slowly fuse together, and some are over a hundred years old! 🌉

How to fertilize Rubber Plant

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Rubber Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

5 1/2 cups ? Got this beauty about 10 days ago and have not watered it yet. The app is suggesting 5 1/2 cups which seems like a lot. Never had this variety before - any thoughts? Many thanks! #rubyficus #Ficus

Should I repot again? #RubberPlant I repotted my rubber plant out on my front porch cause she wasn't getting enough light inside. However I've since learned that I shouldn't have put it in such a big pot given the size of the roots. Should I repot again now? Or wait to reduce stress on the plant?

Drooping Audrey Ficus Hi all! I’m concerned about my darling Audrey here as she is drooping. I was away for almost month and left the plant in my mother’s care. I told her to water it sparingly since it’s not actively growing at the moment, but I’m worried now she under watered. The drooping looks so sad and I never seen it happen with this plant (I’ve had for a little over a year). Is it an issue of underwatering? Can I restore her with a good drink? She gets solid indirect light, away from a window in a well-heated home. Any tips would be appreciated! She looked so sad to me when I got back tonight and I’m very worried! Nervous the leaves will drop off completely. Ty

#FreshLeafFriday #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy So excited on the new growth on my Bodhi tree. There was an infestation, I accidentally burned some leaves with the Neem oil, plus Marley was NOT happy about moving inside due to cold temperatures! This is my baby so I am over the moon that it is finally regrowing leaves after looking like a stick in a pot for several weeks!!

Guys I think my ficus, Reggie, has died unfortunately. The leaves are slowly being overtaken by brown and it hasn’t grown at all in over a month. I don’t have a photo on hand as I moved it outside because of the sketchy looking soil. #Ficus

Uhm…Rubber Plant Props… So…I didn’t think I’d get this far, so now what do I do? Should I keep creating a greenhouse with a Ziploc bag or start growing it like the original plant (parent plant)? Any suggestions?😅

Watering when moisture meter says wet Hi! The app is suggesting I give water to my plant. However, the moisture meter says the pot is wet at the bottom, but moist/dry at the top. Should I calibrate the app’s recommendation with a moisture meter or just give the recommended amount?
