About Silver Dragon
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

Finding light for Silver Dragon in your home
a window
Silver Dragon may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Silver Dragon in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Silver Dragon
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Silver Dragon after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Alocasia growth rate So, I bought this #Alocasia Silver Dragon. I’m obsessed, it’s beautiful, I really wanted one for a long time. I’ve had him for about 2 months now, and from the very beginning I saw a new leaf coming… the things is, in all this time it’s has grown roughly 2-3cm… is this normal? I’m I being impatient or am I missing something? Any tips? #ThanksForPhotosynthesis

On the left, $8 @ local Lowe's. On the right, $30 from the app plant shop. The plant card is what the ordered one looked like when it arrived. It was my first plant ever not purchased locally. Lesson learned! #alocasiaaddicts #plantsmakepeoplehappy

When do I pot up these little babies? These didn’t take long to push out roots 🙃 what kind of substrate do you recommend?

Unsure of whats wrong I got an Alocasia Silver Dragon recently, never had one before. Not sure whats going on with it, the brown tips i think are from my hard water but is the first picture a burn? And in the second, theres just lighter spots on a newer leaf. Been spraying with neem oil/dish soap while quarantining and can’t find any pests, other than springtails in the soil/pot (never on a leaf). #Alocasia #SilverDragon #AlocasiaAddicts
