Why are the leaves curled in and darker? It looks unhappy...

For what I know it can be couple of reasons, a recent temperature shock, under or overwatering. A good way to found out is to repot and see those roots. Sometimes with harsh direct sunlight that happens to them and turn a like dark color too; My aloe enjoys being outside and receive am morning direct sunlight and be covered under the a tree during the afternoon and I repot her once a year in spring after the last frost.
