Help with fan cactus?

Question

I noticed the top is suddenly mushy and the stem is off-color. It was sitting under a grow lights in the same kind of soil it's lived in for 5+ years. What's got it sad? What can I do? #succulentsquad #succulentlove #help

@AmberMallow you should always be optimistic. any plant can be saved! Just keep up with any fungicide you choose. It sounds crazy but talk to your plants encourage it to get better I walk outside every morning and tell my plants they are beautiful and they are growing fast they seem to grow well but I hope you can recover from this.

Hey @AmberMallow, Your plant likely has root rot looks like you caught it in time before any further damage hence the darker roots , likely from overwatering or old soil. Cut off the mushy parts with a clean steril knife, let it dry, and repot in fresh, well-draining soil. Water sparingly and ensure good drainage hope this helps 🙏
