Whatโs up with my Fern?
Hey Yโall! So far Iโve been having great success with my plants but Iโm having a small issue with one of my ferns and Iโm here asking for some help.
This is a Fern I got a few weeks ago so sheโs not very new and I would say sheโs pretty well acclimated to my home. Sheโs on a watering schedule and in a plastic pot with drainage that never seemed to cause her any trouble before. Sheโs on a shelf that gets indirect sunlight in the morning and afternoon. I mist my plants at night and I have a humidifier since Iโm in a dryer climate. Sheโs not under an air conditioner and the plants around her seem to thrive in the same place.
So Iโm curious, why are her leaves crunchy and wilting?

@WiseChaffflower check her roots. Most store bought ferns have a root binder or fabric mesh thing that was a plug for growing the plants. Sometimes itโs black and hard to see in the soil . Also, most ferns are lithophytes (Iโm not sure on this one). and like an airy soil as their roots are fine and donโt push through heavy soil very well. Some tend to mix coco coir with perlite and coco chips.
