Scaly build up on stems
I'm new to cactus and never seen this before. They're propagated from a large healthy plant and they just started appearing a few weeks ago. Should i be worried?

Hi Moose! The scaly buildup on your cactus stems is likely a mealybug infestation. These tiny, white, fuzzy insects can damage your plant if left untreated.
Here's what you can do:
* Isolating the Plant: Move the infested cactus away from other plants to prevent the spread of mealybugs.
* Manual Removal: Gently scrape off the mealybugs using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
* Neem Oil Spray: Spray the entire cactus with neem oil to kill any remaining mealybugs.
* Repeat Treatment: Repeat the neem oil treatment every 7-10 days for a few weeks to ensure all the mealybugs are gone.
Keep an eye on your cactus for any new signs of infestation. With proper care and treatment, your cactus should recover.
