How do I re-pot my aloe?

howdy! My aloe has gotten very large lately and I had to move it to a more roomy spot and it’s lop-sided and it needs repotting and new soil. What soil should I get and how do I re-pot the aloe? I also have these two babies that I’m not sure how to re-pot either. #AloeVera

@PrincessCami Thanks! If you feel like your question do you think you could best answer me?
If you search soil for aloe you will get soil that will work. You are supposed to go up about 2 inches every time so if it’s growing fast then I would go up at least 5 inches! I believe it’s ok if they are lopsided. Happy planting!
@PlantyPlanter thank you so much!! I’ll order some on Amazon πŸ₯°should I get a new pot too or will soil be enough?
@PrincessCami I’m glad I was able to help!
@PrincessCami πŸ‘‹ succulent/cactus soil is best. Definitely go up in pot size for the mother plant. Based on the current pot size on the info card I would say you could go up to a 10” pot. You’d be able to straighten the plant. It looks like there are 2 pups? If you are looking to separate the pups I would leave the smaller of the 2 with the mother until it’s bigger. The other one can stay in the current pot. Hope this helps!
@PrincessCami I just repotted my Aloe and used Bonsai Jack’s gritty mix. 😍
@ksaginak thank you! How do you repot them? I’ve never had to repot before
@PrincessCami I removed it gently from the original pot and untangled the roots. You might want to divide yours if it’s leggy and large, and if there’s pups. I filled the new pot with gritty mix, then positioned the aloe in the gritty mix making sure to repot at the same depth and height as the previous pot. I didn’t water for several days to give the aloe time to accumulate and settle into its new home. I hope that helps. ☺️
I recently repotted my aloe that had grown so big it became top heavy and would fall over in the pot! Also now lopsided bit seems to be doing ok.
