Fungal gnats are my worst enemy. I find that spraying neem oil on the plant and dirt controls them somewhat. I also put a little dish of apple cider vinegar with dish soap on the side to catch those darn things. There is also a product you can sprinkle on the dirt called mosquito bits that will kill the baby gnats and help you with future infestation. Fungal gnats are due to the soil being wet, where bacteria is thriving. They thrive in those conditions. Make sure to keep aloe in a bright area with lots of warmth and sun. And make sure to allow to dry. I water my succulents once every 4 weeks.
I had a really bad fungus gnat infestation brought in from a new plant. I tried every single DIY to get rid of them to no avail. Finally I tried the pricier option that I’d been putting off, because of the cost. Beneficial nematodes. I ordered them from Amazon. You have to be sure they’re still cool to the touch when you open the box or they’re ruined. You keep them in the refrigerator and add to your chlorine free water when it’s time to water. You will slowly begin to see less gnats and before you realize it there are no gnats at all!! Continue using when you water until they are gone. Great thing about these is that once their food source, gnats and larvae, is depleted the nematodes will just die off. No harm at all to your plants! Trust me they work! I tried everything under the sun before turning to nematodes. I wish I had tried them first.
some people mix 1part hydro. peroxide with 10parts water and water the plant regularly until the bugs are away, make sure to isolate it from other plants until they’re gone
