What’s happening to my bay laurel?

I repotted him a few days ago and he was looking good, aside from the fact that his roots were sticking out the bottom of his old pot (I didn’t realise) and where somewhat compacted, but otherwise seems pretty healthy.

I repotted him into some perlite and soil mix and since then his newer leaves have been curling and the baby leaves have been turning brown at the ends.

Any idea what’s happening? Thanks
