Orchid looking sad

Hello all, I do well with #Orchid usually but in struggling with Prince here. I’ve had him for over two years. He was a gift from a botanical gardens. Never repotted (he’s in bark) and has never bloomed. New leaves but nothing else. Now I’m losing a few stalks as they yellow and squish and then I cut them off. (The oldest leaves were already split like that when I got him.)
He gets misted a few times a week and soaked once or twice a month. I just feel like he’s not thriving like my others. Ideas? #PhalaenopsisOrchid #help

5” pot with drainage

Hi πŸ‘‹. Your plant isn’t a phalaenopsis orchid, which might be why you haven’t been having much luck if you’ve been following phal care - your type of orchid probably comes from a different part of the world and would require different care. I only have experience with phals so I might be wrong, but yours looks like it could either be a brassavola orchid or perhaps a cattleya orchid, so it could be helpful to do some research into those. If nobody is able to identify it here, perhaps you could take it to your garden centre/botanical centre and ask them to identify it for you?
It could be overwatering or maybe a bacteria in the water causing rot, but it looks like it needs a new pot to me
One of the ways to identify phals is that they always have a stem, from which the leaves, and flower spikes grow. Yours looks like it has canes, whereas phals don’t have canes!
I would recommend you check out miss orchid girl on YouTube she is an expert on orchid care and I love her videos. She's a good teacher.
