Peperomia problems

Hoping for some help with two things with my #peperomia . First, I’m dealing with a infestation problem (for all my plants!) due to overwatering. I repotted most of them, and I’m now bottom-watering and have cinnamon on top to try to get rid of them. But now there’s some fuzzy mold growing on the top of the soil. Second, this guy is making a rebound from almost dying when I overwatered it, but it’s quite lopsided! Both main branches are leaned over. I tried turning it to face the sun and it’s not moving them. I now have the smaller one propped up - I think this one is lopsided because it’s top heavy. (1) Should I repot, and (2) should I prune back the top heavy leaves?
1ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 5 months ago
I would leave it in the sun, with the branches facing the opposite direction, so the sun will pull the branches towards it
Let me know if that works
Hi! What kind of soil are you using? I’ve dealt with moldy soil in the past and it’s totally not fun!
If you're soil is moldy you can spray it with peroxide. Cinnamon will deter the fungus gnats but the peroxide will get rid of the mold.
I’ve learned that if my plants get mold they’re usually in too large of a pot. If you decide to repot, put in a smaller pot or one that will pull moisture (terracotta, unglazed cement). Also, is there any airflow around it? If you don’t want to repot again, definitely spray the soil with hydrogen peroxide or mix in systemics (I know they’re looked upon negatively by some but they definitely protect plants from bugs).
@lexindoorjungle just miracle grow potting soil (just bought what was available and have been using it since)
You can spray some water with vinegar to help kill the mold. More air oscillating around then will help keep it at bay. I've made all my soil mixes Chunky to help me keep from getting mold and over watering
@Lynnja I think I should probably repot it (I agree about the too-big pot) but I’m nervous to since it’s not growing season/it’s so little. Do you think repotting it is the best option?
@clairsheart how long do you think it would take? I’ve had it facing away from the sun for a couple weeks and nothing has changed.
I agree with the comments above that recommend adding something to soil. This will allow more air flow throughout the pot and decrease the chance of mold.
just chiming in to say, if you’re ever interested, I find that my Peperomia do fantastic in leca. No fungus gnats, no mold.

But I agree with everybody else, smaller pot, chunkier soil. Water with mosquito bit water or if you don’t have that diluted hydrogen peroxide water. (one part hydrogen peroxide to three parts) both worked for fungus gnats for me massively. (but I still sprinkle some of the cinnamon because let’s face it it smells good. πŸ˜‚)
Your Peperomia is getting 1 - 3 h of Sun daily. Peperomia is a Sun loving plant. Increase the hours of exposure to bright indirect Sun to at least 6+ hours. Mine is getting 11 h a day. Leaning and weak branches indicate not enough Sun.

I agree with what was said above about fungus gnats.
