Why is the leaf yellow?

My Pink Dragon arrived last week with green leaves, one of which was new. But I noticed today that 1 leaf turned completely yellow. I have a new leaf that just popped up, so is this normal? This is my first Alocasia.

I have not had a lot of luck with them, but I think it is pretty normal to lose an old one when you get a new one. The new growth looks fabulous.

It could be stress from the travel to your new environment.

It could also root rot from too much water, however, the rest of the plant looks fantastic change out the soil and inspect the roots which would tell you a lot.

@PoisedAlbo I changed out the soil this morning. Roots looked fantastic. I used a mix of Orchid Bark, potting mix and perlite. Will that work or should I find an Alocasia mix?
