Hi everyone, I have recently repotted my banana and seems like the main plant died and the small ones grow. How to deal with this?

Pots way too small I mean wayyyy too small. Chef knife/machete big knife the babyβs off right through the corm when you repot it. And depending on the size of the babies each one its own pot.
I have several different species and all different sizes and colors. Please tell me what kind you have and take a clear picture of it Please. Of the diff size pups. And Iβll guide you the best I can οΏΌοΏΌοΏΌ

The outside most browning yellowing the dying leaves can be cut off and if it was in a large pot or in your yard chop and drop is a great practice because banana is one of the best feeds for itself.
Itβs just a big piece of grass because the leaves are so big. It is a heavy feeder. It wants nitrogen and lots of it. οΏΌ

@OhGollyItsJolly more pics. I think the original is really dead - my first picture made it look like there is something but it was leaf from other plant. I do not know what specific banana I have. Thanks!
@conta is the texture dry & crispy or soggy wet? Either way, I think youβd be safe to cut it down as low as you can. Or cut off the babies With banana plants when you go to repot them or separate the babies from mother you definitely have to use like a chefs, knife or a small machete To cut through the corm. But doing that you can just put the corn in some wet dirt and after a week or so it will grow roots and shoot up like a big piece of grass. I do suggest a decent size pot.
When I separated the babies from the mother with my most recent one, I just happen to have four blueberry containers from the previous year, so potted them up in them. They need repotting now
Looking at the pictures, you just shared you can definitely separate the three big ones and put each one in a pot by themselves. I suggest roughly a 12 inch pot until they get 3 foot tall and then you can go a little bigger. I use the better homes n gardens plastic whiskey barrel pots from Walmart the small 10$ one is perfect size for 1st year of bananas life then then increase to the 2nd size when splitting off the babies. οΏΌοΏΌ if itβs a full size banana that can get 14 foot it could probably fill up the large $15 one.
you can give bananas as much sun as you can get as long as you give them water, they love to drink.
These are extremely fast growers so you kind of have to be ready to uppot them when necessary. I will say donβt be afraid or timid when it comes to cutting through the corn and separating the babies just cut right through it leave some of the corm on there put it in some soil. I donβt think Iβve ever lost but only one & was from overwatering a small baby in heavy soil. But yes, everything looks fine and youβre off to the races as soon as you do a repot if you have any questions even in the process just tag me Iβll help soon as I can. But I donβt think you have anything to worry about. οΏΌ οΏΌοΏΌοΏΌοΏΌ
