How often do you guys water?

#Ficus when I first got started with Greg I followed the Greg watering guide and got root rot on most of my plants. Just got this guy and he’s pretty new so I’m looking for some advice on how often to Water thank you.

@ArrakisTeraform I don’t have this particular ficus but I have several others and i only water my plants once every 7-10 days in summer and every 10-14 days in winter. My largest is in a 10 inch pot and he takes 2 cups of water so I would say you should water with 3 cups every 10-14 days right now. The key thing is to not let the soil completely dry. I also use a water meter on some of my larger plants. You can get one on Amazon for about $10 but if you don’t want to invest in that, gently stick a chopstick halfway down in the soil and if it come out dry, it’s time to water.
You can still use Greg app for watering your plants. When Gregg saids it is time to water, by you using a moisture meter and chopstick as explained by @Shells_Garden if you feel, a need not to water, you can hit the snooze button and Gregg will ask you again 2 days later
