Curling leaves, some yellowing
I am new at taking care of alocasias (and most of my other plants, I just keep adopting new kinds π
) and I had a mishap right after adopting this gal. I was overeager to pot her, so I potted her in the wrong soil and a pot with insufficient drainage and thus ended up SERIOUSLY over-watered her. ππ€¦
I re-potted her soon after with the right soil and a well-draining pot, and she perked up. However, she's starting to curl and yellow again. I even have a lil humidity tray for her too! What should I be doing to help her live her best planty life?? π₯ΊπΏ #alocasiaaddicts #plantaddict #newplantmom

You have a beautiful Alocasia Zebrina. Itβs a very rare plant. Overwatering is the main reason Alocasia leaves turn yellow. Other possibilities are: nutrient deficiency, using tap water, insufficient light, wrong potting mix, low humidity and transplant shock. Go to this website to see all 12 reasons; https://plantscraze.com/alocasia-yellow-leaves/.
This article also claim some yellowing of the leaves is natural and it gives you tips on how to heal your plant. Allow 2 to 3 inches for the top soil to dry before watering again. I hope your plant-friend will soon feel better. Keep your Greg family updated.

I wait until my pot is super light and the soil is dry before I water my sarians (Yes I love them so much I have two haha). The more light the better too! The stalks will become shorter in brighter light, mine can take direct light with no burns so donβt be scared of putting it in your hottest spot. Be mindful if you tie up your leaves, the next baby leaf will come from the newest leaf you have so try to keep that one βfreeβ to prevent your new baby leaf getting stuck or crushed. You may lose the yellowing leaf, but Iβm sure a new one will come quickly! Good luck I absolutely love this plant. π±β€οΈ
