I have had money trees for as long as I can remember, and at no time ever has all the leaves been healthy and beautiful at the same time- I think it is just par for the course with the money trees. You may get a few weeks of not a bad leaf in sight, but it just happens more often than not. If it were mine, I would clip away the browning leaves and call a day! It is a beautiful tree! Based on the leaves in your photos, it looks like your money tree is experiencing root stress that could be affecting its ability to absorb nutrients properly. The most common cause of this is overwatering, specifically the soil staying wet too long. What is your watering routine like? Are you allowing the soil to almost completely dry out between waterings? It could also be the result of old soil—have you repotted it since bringing it home? If not, there's also a chance it still has rubber bands around the base of the trunk. Growers use them to hold the separate trees together when they're small, and if they're not removed they can lead to stunted growth and other issues. Repot it in a slightly larger pot (no more than 2-3" bigger than the current pot) that has plenty of drainage holes at the bottom. Potting soil mixed with extra perlite and some orchid bark is a good choice. When you pull the tree from the pot, inspect the roots for signs of rot (darker color, mushy, easily fall apart in chunks when handled) and check the base for rubber bands.
@stephongreg it’s been repotted with fresh soil a couple of months ago, but there’s many gnats/flies going on so I suspect wrong waterings.. it’s not mine, so I just asked for a friend who wants to ameliorate his office. I suspect also moving stress, since the plant has been placed in a new location for a couple of weeks so far! Anyways, I wanted to ask here to be sure, since y’all help me out every time 🙏🏼
I moved mine to a different window with a little more sun and it made a HUGE difference!!
