Spider plant yellowing leaves

Question

This plan is giving me a little bit of issues trying to adjust the light and water correctly. Is this a normal yellowing leaf or a sign of something else? #SpiderPlant #help #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewPlantMom

I had a spider plant a couple years ago. Try letting it dry out a bit then give it some water. Mine yellowed and that's what I did and it perked right back up. Also give it a bit more sun. Good luck.

if it's just one leaf that's alright. If more start yellowing, try fertilizing it. A common cause of yellow leaves is over or underwatering, and it can also be a sign of too much light. Best of luck!

Best advice I can give is be sure not to use tap water. I lost a lot of leaves initially after watering with tap.

In a spray bottle make 1gallon of water, 1 tsp baking soda and 1 drop dish detergent. Spray that plant until it looks like it been out in the rain, but only once a month.

I have mine in west window in terracotta . I use a water meter  and when it says just about dry I water. I have been bottom watering which has helped me a lot. I have 5 spider plants…. really a lot more than that if you count all the babies I removed from my all green mama plants. I have 2 green ones, 2 curly ones and one straight one.. those 3 are varigated.  If your plant is in plastic it takes awhile for them to dry out. I use tap water and they do ok but mostly I collect rain water when I can even during the winter  I collect snow and melt it down.
