Best way to propagate?

Hello friends! As I was watering plants in the area of my little baby hoya curtsii I noticed that there was a good number of yellow leaves so I pulled it out to inspect. Somehow on of the vines had completely dried up at the base while the other vine is still going strong with no issues other than some dry soil. I removed the vine that had dried up at the base in hopes of propagating to salvage it but I’m wondering how I should go about this? I’ve never propagated a hoya before and I would hate to lose this vine since it trails at least 12 inches! Would you guys recommend chopping it up or keeping it whole, and what medium would be your top recommendation? The easier the better since I’m also taking a 2 week trip to visit my bf next week but worst case I’ll show my mom the best care while I’m goneπŸ₯° tyia for your help friends! #Hoya #HoyaHeads #HoyaHangout #HoyaCurtisii #PropagationStation #Propagation

@silverlinings first of all, that nail polish color is πŸ‘Œ! I would chop it (the individual lengths for each stem is your preference and size of container you choose), and sphagnum moss is really easy. You can moisten the sphagnum, place the stems on top (with nodes facing the moss) close the lid (& have your mom open it once a week for an hour or so). This is what I do for a current Hoya Eskimo that started from a similar stage, and she’s been growing lovely roots!
Omg that nail polish IS gorgeous! New to propagating so I don’t have any advice but I LOVE shiny nail polish πŸ’™βœ¨
I chopped mine up and planted the pieces. It took about 6 months, but they finally have new growth now.
I second @RainbowFairy. It's how I've had the most success with all my "stringy" hoyas.

Sometimes you can skip the moss and just lay it on top of damp soil with a dome, but it needs to be kept warm and bright enough that the moss isn't needed so is best done that way in the summer.
@RainbowFairy thank you (it’s from an online indie brand called Mooncat, I’m a bit obsessed lol) And beautiful!! Ive got tons of sphagnum moss hanging around so that makes my life nice and easy, thanks! πŸ₯°
@ThisCalatheaCan thank you!! It’s from an online indie brand called Mooncat, they really excel at shiny/sparkly polishesπŸ₯°
@PlantMompy yea I think sphagnum moss will yield the best results atm! I’m in central Ontario, Canada and we’re in the middle of a snow storm lol I’ve also barely seen sun for longer than a handful of minutes since the start of December so I’m not gonna play around with soil until the weather is more appropriate🫣
@silverlinings Omg! I didn’t even know it was from there! I have mooncat nailpolish on right now!
@ThisCalatheaCan ahh I love hearing others who love mooncat too! I paired glossy triceratops with river Styx for the accent nailπŸ₯°
