String of Pearls issue

My string of pearls was growing like mad, but lately it has slowed down and many of the pearls have dried up. It's in succulent soil (my mix) and I've been careful not to over water, but I wonder if I've gone too far. Any ideas, oh great minds of Greg? #plantsmakepeoplehappy #stringofpearls #troubleshooting #help #succulentlove #whatthesuccwednesday

@ForestDweller Your pearls are clearly on a hydration strike serving crispy couture β€˜cause they didn’t get their just right moisture balance Try bottom watering once a week (they’re dramatic, but they like their roots pampered), and move β€˜em to bright indirect light if they’re sunburned. Oh and don’t be shy with a humidity flirt now and then. They want spa, not survival.
I have backed off on watering everyone here and there this summer. We've been having issues with our A/C and the humidity is super high when it's not on. I've lost a couple plants from it. I'll start doing better... It's working now, hopefully for good. 🀞
@ForestDweller Also a helpful way to check to see if your plant is ready for water is the chopstick method. I'm sure you're already aware but if not you put a chopstick down into the soil if it comes out wet, discolored or with soil on it at all it's generally not ready you would then swipe left to snooze your plant. The app will bring that plant back around in a few days telling you to water it again but always check your plant before you blindly water it. Also with your Pearls they have a slit called a window on the side of each pearl. When the "window" is open it's completely hydrated and doesn't need water. When the window is closed then they are ready to be watered. When they tell you they're ready, water the plant thoroughly until you see water draining from the bottom. The side slits should then open up ready for photosynthesis. If you knew all this stuff disregard lol
@princesspitstop the weird thing was that many of the pearls were plump with slit open and then others were crunchy... Only a couple were slit closed. Thanks for the detailed answer. Even though I knew it, it's here for the next person who is struggling. πŸ™‚
@ForestDweller Wow that is very odd. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Lol had I been paying attention to your XP I would have realized that you probably already knew such basic information. 🀷I must have been still asleep. 😁 That's so sad. They were looking so good! 😌
@ForestDweller I had that with mine too. It likes a little spray of water on its pearls couple times a week. I’ve been successful with that so far… it even bloomed :)
