aloe leaf hollow at the end?
the section my fingers showing is completely hollow..? what do i do and why did this happen, it was also fine a few days ago to my knowlage #AloeVera
@kscape Thanks! Im still trying to find a balance between over and under watering my aloe since it keeps going iβm between the two, do you recommend I cut that part off or leave it?
@kscape I also just checked and the soils still wet- ive also been watering it basically weekly, is there anything else you can think of that might be causing simular symptoms to underwatering?
@ghostboys Well, this is going to sound very contradicting but overwatering can cause similar issues! If youβre watering practically every week and the soil is wet, this could be the main issue.
It is suggested to water Aloes 7-10 days in the summer, but itβs important to make sure that the soil is almost dry before the next watering, if not, thereβs a chance of root rot and drowning.
Just because the leaves look not-so good, personally Iβd check the roots to make sure theyβre not discolored or shriveled/damaged. Next, I would repot in potting mix and perlite (for excellent drainage) and let it settle for 2-3 days. Do not water for a couple of days as the aloe settles πͺ΄
Also, because Iβm very specific about my plants and how they look, I would just keep the leaves as theyβre providing nutrients to the plant, and eventually theyβll fall off on their own. With succulents and houseplants, Iβll trim or remove the entire leaf/stem, but with Aloes, I like to keep them as theyβre still good for nutrients πΏβ¨

@kscape thank you! I was going to trim my aloe and now Iβll just leave it π
