Not sure if my Watermelon Peperonia is doing alright

Hello! I have had this plant for about 8-9 months and I am not so sure if it’s doing okay. It’s growing well with lots of little sprouts, so that’s positive, but the leaves are curled, crisp, and some are browning at the top or even black. The plant is also leggy and the leaves don’t have that silver striation that I think they are supposed to have.

In terms of care: I watered it today and last watered it 10 days ago before then. I might be underwatering but I nearly drowned it back in January so I am very cautious now. Back then, I repotted into new, better draining soil and also got a pot with a drain when repotting. Still, I see a few brown, thin stems which continues to make me reticent to water more often (and the top inch of soil takes its time to dry) .

I added a small bowl of water near it to help with humidity two weeks ago (my apartment is admittedly quite dry) but I’m not sure it’s doing much. I also moved it to a much brighter spot around the same time.

Any thoughts?

I still consider myself a beginner plant owner who is still learning a lot so it’s possible I’m overthinking it!

Thank you!

Hi @RealisticBarley!
I am wondering the same thing. Never got the hang on the one I got🙈
Brown tips might be sunburn or too dry soil or air. And they do unfurl more as they grow bigger.
But for the legginess I am starting to believe it is just the way they are😅

You might want to add some hashtags so that more people will see your post! #peperomia #happyplants #succulentsquad #help #newplantmom
@sara5319 tagging you as you got a beautiful watermelon peperomia, what is your secret?😄
@MockingJay thanks for the tip on the hashtags! Just started using this app. Hopefully we’ll both find an answer about our peperomias!
I have one, and it's doing well. They like humidity. They also like their soil a little moist, but not wet, so don't let it dry out completely.
@Plantaholic78 thank you for the advice! I’ll try to be a little more generous with water 👍🏼
I’ve moved it to a spot where it will get bright, but indirect sunlight, and it will have a more humid environment since I’m cooking nearby. This spot is also less drafty since it’s not in the path of A/C, so fingers crossed this may help! But now I’ll leave him be for some time
