How do I cut roots on a mini monstera?

Frankies' root system is to big for her pot so I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to cut the roots back because I don't want to move her out of that spot. #help #rootbound #rootporn #helpneeded #minimonstera
4ft to light, direct
4” pot with drainage

I agree with the other two ladies @LauraLynne & @mal9 I wouldn’t cut on the roots. This root system isn’t that root bound. Actually, it looks normal and healthy. Root bound is when your roots have circled the bottom of the pot several times and the plant can no longer in take water. Instead, you can cut back some foliage and propagate if you want to keep it in that pot. All philodendron verities like to be heavily rooted and don’t necessarily need to be reported every season. οΏΌOr upgrade the pot like the other gals have suggested. It won’t hurt it either way. Good luck with it!
Don’t cut. It’s super risky. Get that pot a new plant and give the mini monstera a new pot 1” bigger.
I wouldn't cut the roots. I agree πŸ’― with @LauraLynne @mal9 @Superkma75
I have never cut the roots back, when it looks like that I repot it into a bigger pot
Sometimes I do repot in a bigger pot but when I don’t have one Available I do cut the bottom layer of roots, I’ve never done it with this plant so I can’t say it’s gonna go perfect, but with my large dragon tree it only took a week or so to re adjust. Here’s an example of how I cut it https://youtube.com/shorts/D18VU231NsM?feature=share
Just repot in a pot 2" larger. Those roots look pristine. Best to leave them be.

EDIT: didn't see your response about not having a bigger pot. Sorry.
(off topic) @EducatedBeech Amazing dragon tree, Syd. How old is it?
@CorvidFan my mom rescued both out of dumpster when her and my dad were just dating! Well over 30 years now!
Just leave the roots be they will be good for some time for you to save up and get the pot you want. You have some stunning plants I love your I do believe it's a milk bone cactus or something like that I want one are they hard to care for
