just check your soil with a wooded chopstick. if the chopstick comes out of the soil dry, you need to give it a heavy watering, if it comes out with little bits of dirt on it, hold off on the watering. many times people get confused on when to water plants, and how much water to give them, but it doesnβt matter how much water you give them, it matters how often you water them. if you have a well draining mix, then when that chopstick comes out dry, you can drown that h*e. then wait a couple of days, check the soil again, and repeat. lots of people think that itβs okay to water plants everyday, but only give them a little bit of water every day, and thatβs bad, because even though youβre only watering a little bit, since youβre doing it everyday, even though itβs only a little bit of water, that plant is going to be more prone to root rot. so instead of watering lightly every day, water heavily when the plant needs it.
Thank you. I've also been told that I should only water when the plant is drooping and that's mainly what I've been doing. Greg says I should water now, but the soil is most so I'm waiting. Would it perhaps do better outside with indirect sun? I've had it inside next to my sliding door so it gets indirect sun - through a sheer curtain - facing my covered deck.
