Albo Adonsonii only Making white leaves 🙄
Twice now I've cut it back down to the fully green part of it's stem to try and get it to grow some green leaves but NOPE!!!.
last time I cut it back it made a new side shoot and has been growing only white leaves from there and never continued to grow from the cut section. Ive tried different lighting levels from low to high. I just don't know what else to do.
If it carries on there's not gonna be enough green to keep it alive.
Anyone got any advice at all ?

Originally I was going to say some plants just have really bad genetics and when that happens there is no hope.
Then I looked at ALL of the photos. So glad I did, move her to a very bright location not a direct south facing window. But an east or west window. Put her IN the window. Or about 6 feet from a south window.

@SuperbRaspfern Hi, Thanks so much for your help. I too also am thinking she might be done for 😅. As I said I've already cut her back twice down to nodes that were in fully green sections hoping it would help but nope!.
She's been about 6ft from a south facing window for about 6 months or so now already because that's where her white leaves seemed to be the most stable albeit a bit yellow. I only have either north or south windows but my south windows get HOT!!!! Which is kinda rare for the UK lol. I do have grow lights but I found they just burnt the white leaves which is what the previous browning of the white on the actual green leaves is from.
Do you think I should try moving her slightly closer to my south window ? Maybe trying one more chop ?
The newest white leaves do have some green pigment in there so do j leave it for a few more leaves to see if it miraculously produces greens again and then remove some of the whites ?
I honestly don't know anymore.

I would do 1 more chop and put her closer to the south window in that case. Try 4 feet. Give that 1 month if no change 3 feet. Etc. I have a South facing windows and have many plants quite close, about 2 feet away, some right up there in the window. It's just play around till you find out her happy spot.
At this point you have nothing to lose. It kinda a last ditch effort.
It's just the one branch with the yellow, the other branch is green. So chop the yellow branch all the way off at the base. The green on the upper leaf does give me hope. She may just be slower than usual to respond to the light change.
But definitely cut that branch off, it's not benefitting her at all. You want all the energy she has to go to new green growth.
You my dear have a challenge. Some are really just like that. I grow many of my plants from seed. Started in the same location, same conditions always. Some thrive, some don't they will struggle from the start. They will grow, but they won't grow strong like the one next to it. It really is the genetics of the seed. You unfortunately may have gotten a plant that is a dud.
But, also you have nothing to lose, so play around with the sun and putting her closer, she has potential. She may always be a challenge for you though. Some just fail to thrive.

@smushface That is a good idea. It has been near a south window for 6 months so I could try moving it again.
I have been fertilising but slightly inconsistently. I'm in the middle of house renovations so some weeks I water and some I fertilize if I remember. It's not great I know 😂

@PlantPeach tbh I often don’t bother fertilizing on any schedule… mainly it’s “something on that plant looks a little sad and it’s been a few months” (coloring/discoloration, slow growth, vigor, no flowers for a while, whatever) and then I will fertilize a bunch of stuff that uses the same fertilizer as the sad plant at once. Nature is unpredictable and imperfect, and maintaining imperfect indoor conditions just makes for hardier plants 😅
It could definitely be a genetic thing where it is borked, but it’s strange that it happens suddenly and consistently with all your new growth. It’s at least good that it otherwise looks pretty healthy. Check that your fertilizer has magnesium in it, try giving it a little less light so it has a need for more chlorophyll, and if all else fails try repotting it in new soil and fertilizing it after repot (if there is some issue with your medium — especially if pH is too high or low — that can affect the plant’s ability to absorb one or more nutrients).
