How long can plants survive shipping?
Hey guys... I'm kinda at my wits end! I came across a closing down sale from a plant shop that was just TOO GOOD not to take advantage of... Included in the price was (allegedly) FREE 3-5 DAY INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Now... I appreciate that English isn't the first language of the seller (it's coming from China! Though I paid in USD, which I find totally weird but is kinda beside the point!). Having heard nothing after a week I contacted the seller, feeling VERY nervous that I'd been soundly scammed, and to my surprise she replied! She hasn't replied since, but did send me tracking details... Which, it turns out, is 3 WEEKS shipping! I was still nervous I was being scammed.
Now, according to the carriers website tracking my plants have FINALLY arrived in Edinburgh! (BIG WOOHOO!) so expecting delivery tmz... But after 3 weeks of travel, is there ANY CHANCE they'll be ok? Like, still alive?! the plant shop (which was closing) was attached to a clothing shop which is still going... So I'm pretty sure, with some seriously annoying effort, I will be able to get a refund off them (EVENTUALLY!!) if my plants are all DoA! But I'm soooooo hoping they're ok! There are 3 of my all-time wishlist plants in there!!
Keeping everything crossed, but would appreciate the #greggang's input please? What's the longest you've waited on plant shipping, and still got healthy plants delivered?

P.S. despite paying in USD, and my local currency being GBP, the invoice I got is in EUR!?! lmao (I paid EUR50 for ALL of the above, including (much slower than advertised) shipping! I so desperately want it to work out!! Lol 🤞🤞🤣

Thanks @debbiedo! 🥰 You've given me a bit of confidence that it might just work out!! Lol 🤣 I would've paid for shipping if I'd known it was going to take this long! Lol but yeah... If they arrive safely and (relatively) healthy it will be the plant bargain of my life!! Lol the BoP and the Yukka are both over a metre tall as well! (The yukka is closer to 1.5 actually and cost £4!!! 😲 There was NO WAY I was leaving that! Lol despite being nervous about the long distance shipping... Even before I realised she meant WEEKS not DAYS! lmao 🤣). I'll definitely be posting a 'happy plant dance" post if they're ok when they turn up! 🥰 Xx
Omg I forgot I even posted this .. lmao 🤦♀️🫣🤣 @EmoryRhodes @PrizedShadscale @debbiedo I'm afraid I got scammed!! 😭😭 I FINALLY got a delivery notification but .. no plants! I tried to contact the seller again but no dice, so I got in touch with my bank and they refunded me and set shit chasing her. Since she's in CHINA I don't think they'll have much luck but... Thank F*ck for mastercard!! 😢 I should've known it was too good to be true... But if you don't take a punt sometimes you never know eh? Lmao 🤣 xx
@EmoryRhodes yeah I was seriously gutted!! They actually faked the shipping info!! 🤦♀️ I'm not sure why, other than to f*ck with me... Or give them time to get away maybe (but seeing as it took 3 weeks until I found out it was all lies that seems a bit odd! Lol). But yeah, at least I got my money back (& bought more plants with it! Lmao 🤣 just not as cheap or as large as the ones I originally ordered 🤣) xx
