This is the second string of pearls to meet its demise under my care.  What am I doing wrong?

Ignore the pet hair, but they do like small, shallow pots, bottom watering only with distilled water, or rain water, bottled spring water if I dont have a choice. (Our water is very treated here) I only water when the peas tell me to! Lol sounds crazy but they have "windows" the slits close up when they're thirsty. I clip the longer pieces and place them on top to create a more full plant, this started from four small, under cared for strings a few months ago. I used to unalive mine too, the windows (or slits) are key to watering as well as a nice grow light above its pot.

Ditto on losing though I’ve seen here on greg that bottom watering is essential . Hopefully someone will shed some light on this succulent.

How are you watering and what's that pot size? Also they like LOTS of over head lighting. In my experience with strings, less is more (except light)  Less soil, less room, less water.

Was pretty mucb hydrophobic when i got em . On sale cause ghey were screwed! Paid 5$ a piece for em lol   Got 6 of em !

I mean it needs to dry fast like in 3-4 days and then dont water again for 2 weeks afyer its dry lol

I beg mines bern dry for 3 weeks and im still not really worried about it . I might water today   I might water it next wek lol

Also i do fertilize all my cacti succulents year round with organic succulent fertilizer 🤷‍♂️ more in summer. But they still get it every 3-4 waterongs in winter

I also forgot to add I used a perlite succulent mix with lava rock too, super well draining. Grumpy (not so old) plant lady too lol
