I have the same plant and all I do is pick the blooms off when they are dead and they grow right right back

Same! I just pick off the dead blooms also.

Just clip the flowers once they are dead/dried up. This is what I do for my rose bush..
I actually forgot to cut the whole rose bush down before winter last year.. lol!
