important background info: a few days ago, I attempted to repot my plant as it was leaning, and it was not secure in the pot when doing so I accidentally ripped out a lot of of its roots. since then, my aloe has been getting dents at the tips of the leaves.
also, i have been unable to find any info about these dark crust spots on my aloe. what are they, and are they harmless?
roots dont appear to be mushy or smelly.
i unfortunately do not have west or east facing windows in my home, and i try to give it as much sunlight as possible. however, itβs difficult in my area as the roof shutters get in the way of direct windows sunlight. i watered it a few days ago when reporting, to get the soil to sit better.
some of the leaves are firm, while some are a little mushy. thank you for all help in advance .

That base is actually rotting, not just stained. The dark center looks soft/decayed, which means itβs moved past the roots into the stem.
You need to cut it back above all the dark/mushy tissue until the inside is firm and clean (light green/white). If thereβs any brown left in the center after cutting, keep going.
After that, let it dry out for 2β3 days so it can callus, then replant in a small pot with really fast-draining succulent soil. Donβt water right away, wait about 5β7 days.
The dents in the leaves are likely from root damage/dehydration, not something that more water will fix right now.
Itβs definitely salvageable, but only if the rot is fully removed.
