@chromeowtic I think so, the colour may return when the sap suckers are gone (restricted nutrients causes the yellowing) but the damaged or missing sections are unlikely to heal completely. They may grow in with hood care but YOU as plant parent will always see them.
The recommendation is to completely remove any infected foliage, inspect stem joins and leaf veins with a magnifying glass if you need to (theyβre super small so I use a jewellers glass generally used to inspect the quality of diamonds)
Google will be your best bet for region specific plant info, thereβs some diy scale remedies too but being in Australia I will probably not know what the products are called for you locally to give advice.
Rubbing alcohol on a cotton tip directly on the bug and then remove for small infesteations and horticultural bug sprays for multiple plants or severe infestations are usually the recommended methods for treatment

Correct me if I misunderstand: the weird color is caused by the scale devils? Meaning, the leaves wonβt return to its original shape and color? @PoisonIvys
@PoisonIvys thank you for your help! I did some good ole cutton buds and alcohol, but Iβll keep my eyes open for further pests.
@chromeowtic no worries! My dwarf umbrella is on volcanic rock and pebble tray ππ½ no soil or pot π
From what I can see in the pics you have caught it fairly early, inspect a couple times a week and stick to the treatment regimes because some treatments donβt kill all stages of the life cycle.
Good luck and please tag me in updates? I would love to see how yours progresses π

@PoisonIvys will do! This is a discounted plant from Loweβs, and sooo it makes sense why it has all kinds of issues.
@chromeowtic oh yeah, itβs very likely the scale was picked up there.
Donβt forget to quarantine the plant if you can! Double sided tape also works on branches and pot edges to catch the crawlers and prevent spread

Another day, another chance to kill these scales! @PoisonIvys (I just saw some of them today and will destroy them.)
@chromeowtic itβs so oddly satisfying tbh π
good luck!!!! Howβs the plant looking though? Any new damage or spots? Theoretically it wonβt have started healing just yet but there also shouldnβt be any new damage either. You might have a bit more colour in the pale leaves but probably not just yet
@PoisonIvys theyβre looking better I think. Not much has changed except less white buggers.
