Is my purple prickly pear flowering?

He’s put out 3 of these little shoots in the last 2 weeks!

It's definitely a flower bud or a pear bud. I'm leaning toward flower tho.

My gut says new pad but well have to wait and see! Prickly pears typically flower a bit later on in the year.

@Kiersten I’ve actually been seeing a few wild prickly pears flowering this month they love it here in AZ! Im really hoping it flowers this spring they’re flowers are so so pretty

@Kiersten even if it doesn’t flower I’m still so excited because this is the first growth it’s had in almost the year that I’ve had it!

@CortneyLoves I hope so! This is the first time I’ve gotten new growth on this purple prickly pear in the year that I’ve had it so I’m not totally sure what new growth looks like but these lil guys look like they buds at the top at least I think so hahah
