I always consult the ASPCA their list is very comprehensive.
Hmm I actually couldn't find this on their list(neither the toxic nor non toxic lists), but I don't know all of the "common" names for this. I looked for both string of buttons and Ivory tower but couldn't find either. They have other crassulas (ovata/jade) listed as toxic tho so I'd bet on this one also being toxic.
I found this on another accredited site in regards to the specific species.
@WickedValkyrie It’s actually really weird with the naming/categorizing of plants. I really wanted a Jasmine, which is an irritant to dogs and I looked all over and found a β€œStar Jasmine” which are non-toxic to dogs and cats. I was trying to figure out if this was a similar scenario, but the ASPCA has no words for any Crassula Perforata specifically. 😩
And their list is so friggin long it takes like a million years to look through the entire thing lol
Its common names are String of Buttons, Necklace Vine and Stacked Crassula. It is not the same plant as Baby’s Necklace which is Crassula rupestris. Everything I have found that I feel is from competent sources indicates that the toxicity is undetermined. If it were me, I’d play it safe and keep it away from my pets.
@TruthfulApricot Exactly my thoughts, thank you for the insight!
