Neglected π
#Taro so Iβm not even sure I have identified correctly what this plant is. Over the past 2.5 years Iβve not taken good care of this guy and it clearly shows. A repot is first and foremost but was almost wondering if I should just cut everything at the (very outgrown) stem and just start over or just get rid of whatβs bad and hope what has potential gets better. It used to look sooo good, you can see in my gallery the long decline it took π’. Any and all advice (especially if you identify this as something else.. just looks wrong to me)
I would say definitely chop and prop. It looks like it was overwatered based on the wrinkly yellow leaves and the mushy looking stem in the pot (though it might just be the picture). I would guess root rot. To do this i would cut the stem where it starts browning or getting mushy and then remove the yellow leaves. Let it callous over a bit and then put it in water. It should come back. And as for the identification, iβd say itβs either a taro or a pothos. Good luck and update! π
