My polka dot plant is dropping leaves
The leaves are towards the bottom and they turn yellow and then get crispy on the end. I let the soil dry out between waterings to avoid overwatering. Any recommendations?

@MamaAuntCa thank you!!! I will definitely try that!
Iβm sorry your Polka Dot plantβs leaves are turning yellow. π Carissa @MamaAuntCa is right. Donβt let the soil dry out, but try to keep the soil evenly moist.
β«οΈThe finger dip test is one way of determining if your plant needs watering. Unfortunately, a green thumb actually means a dirty index finger. π Only water your plant when the top 1/2 inch (or the top 1 inch) of the soil feels dry to your index finger inserted into soil (right down to the 1st knuckle). If the soil feels dry on your finger, then slowly water your plant, stopping immediately, when water starts dripping out of the drainage hole. To avoid overwatering, never let a plant sit in the water that came out of the drainage hole.
β«οΈDuring the wintertime, your plant will go dormant (or start hibernating) and you will notice the frequency of watering decreasing. So, always test the soil before watering.
πI hope your Polka Dot plant will make a speedy recovery.

Hi, Haley. Your plant will thrive with consistent pinching back new growth. These plants need care frequently to keep them looking their best.
I know it seems scary, but pinching off new growth is the best way to keep them compact and picture-perfect.
They also need a fair amount of bright, indirect light - I kept mine under a grow light.
Another thing from #TipsandTricks is to not allow it to flower. When that plant flowers, it drains the life from the plant and often the plant doesn't recover well.
I'm glad you found Greg!!
