Leaves shriveled
#Peperomia Hi, all of my plants have been doing quite well, especially since using Greg... except for Iroh, my jade plant. I am following the watering schedule prescribed by Greg: 1/2 cup every week (which seems like a lot). But it's gone from the profile pic to this. Any suggestions for my schedule? Thanks!
It was thriving before you changed the watering schedule? If so Iβd go back to how you were watering it and if the app tells you to water, select snooze and only mark as watered when you do water it. In the beginning Greg is in learning mode and this will help teach the app on when it does need water.
Good morning! I tend to water my jade plants about once a month, succulents donβt need as much water. If you snooze the weekly watering, Greg will eventually get into a new routine with your plants that need less water. I also noticed the tag says 3 feet from indirect light. Succulents love bright light. I have all of mine on my window sills, right in the sun. I hope this helps
@GoddessBluebill also when I zoomed into your picture I noticed on the back of the smaller cluster of leaves something looks a little suspicious. Almost a mold or something, π€·π½ββοΈ . It might help to remove those leaves and check the stem for anomalies. Just a curious thought and suggestion to explore.
@Arid_oasis Hi Carol, I think what you're seeing are two shriveled leaves at the top of the closest stalk. I wanted to capture those to show what is happening. Thanks!
@GoddessBluebill ok sounds good. Maybe remove them so all its energy goes into healthy growth. Just a suggestion. All in all your Jade looks good!
Here to agree with others that this watering is too frequent for succulents.
2 important notes about succulents: they need to be in a pot with drainage holes, AND their soil needs to be special made succulent/cacti soil. Not regular household soil or soil from their nursery if bought from a store (itβs usually not gritty enough). I suppose another is also to make sure the pot isnβt too big for their roots, they like to be kept cozy in pots that are only about an inch or two larger than their roots system.
Succulents need infrequent, deep waterings, so once every 2-3 weeks (until the soil is super bones dry and the leaves have started to wrinkle or go soft from lack of water) and you water them very deeply until water drops out of the bottom drainage holes of the pot. The special soil also helps prevent overwatering by being very draining. Donβt stick to a scheduled watering amount or time, let the plant tell you when itβs time (again, 2-3 weeks or even 4 weeks, but often about close to 3 weeks is a sweet spot) and water it deeply, but ensure it also drains out fully (tip and shake the pot to get all the water to drip out)
