What am I doing wrong

My Roger doesn’t seem too healthy. I just got him last week from #succulentstudios when I got him he was sticking straight up. 😞
2” pot with drainage

You should be watering that thing like once every month. Maybe not even that much
@HotDeergrass the soil is dry because I haven’t watered him yet
@MissBrittney

That guys needs a drink!
@HotDeergrass sorry, but it's a myth that all succulents you should only water once a month!

This little guy is a small plant and depending on the soil type used, pot, weather, and sunlight it gets, you may need to water it one a week or more at times!

I have succulents planted in more soilless mediums that get lots of outdoor sun that I water twice a week in the summer heat! 😯πŸ₯΅

Anways, If you got him last week in the mail, definitely water him asap!

When succulents are shipped they are often shipped with dry soil and haven't been watered in a while so if you get it in the mail and soil is dry wait 2-3 days for the plant to acclimate then water it.

If you receive a succulent & the soil is wet wait till it dries out and then water it.

After 2-3 watering or when the plant looks healthy and has adapted to its new environment, it's time to repot that baby into fresh soil and a porous pot like unglazed clay or tericotta. πŸ€—

(BTW I used to do that subscription box a few years back..
That's how I got really into succulents!)

So, I know that succulent Studios says to leave the eco pot on as it's biodegradable, but personally I take it off and shake off excess old soil from the roots before putting it in fresh well draining, high quality succulent soil to maximize its access to fresh nutrients!

Hope that helps! πŸ’š
@roxyvivien I watered him and he got worse. I’m having horrible luck with the company I used. All my other babies thrive but not with succulent studios
@MissBrittney I'm sorry I hear that πŸ˜” perhaps it's because they are shipping from the location far from you?

If I remember correctly about 80% of the ones I got over the years from them survived and thrived, but they may have had some issues with their Nursery this season depending on their location and if they grow outdoors.
@MissBrittney do you use distilled or reverse osmosis filtered water for your plants? Crassula are notoriously picky about the type of water as they don't like high mineral content. πŸ˜•

Might just be going through a bad case of transplant shock...

I'd let him be for a bit see what happens.

Careful not to give him too much strong light ... they may have been growing it in different conditions then you're giving him now.
