Why are my stingray’s leaves turning yellow and branches ...

I have an alocasia stingray and its leaves are turning yellow :/ the branches feel soft and are slumping.

It sits under a north-facing window with no direct sunlight, and I put it outside in the partial shade every time I water it.

I water it according to Greg’s pattern, currently every 8 days, even a bit less because I suspected overwatering.
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage

The stem looks really long which means it’s not getting enough light. I don’t think one day outside provides enough light. Are all the leaves getting yellow? How does the soil feel before you water? I let my alocasias mostly dry out so if you’ve been overwatering that’s probably contributing to the yellowing.
@AlmaMG thanks for the reply. Two of the four leaves are yellow feel drier than the two green ones. The soil does not yet feel totally dry, maybe 90% dry, and we’re 5/8 days through the watering cycle. Would you suggest moving it outside for a couple days a week to get more light?
@santi yeah I’d give it as much light as you can. If it’s not receiving that much light then I’d definitely let it dry out almost fully. If another leaf starts yellowing I’d check the roots for rot just to make sure they’re not affected.
Hi! I’ve had this plant for 2 years (multiple near deaths😂) and only now feel like I’m getting a hang of it too. I would say definitely needs better lighting, if you can’t get enough natural light I have found these plants respond really well to grow lights. If you do get grow lights, I recommend placing them on top of the plant- that will make the leaves and stem naturally get more erect because of where the light source is coming from (I also have a bamboo stick helping it, but after months under the grow light my plants doesn’t even need the bamboo stick anymore).
The stem looking long I don’t think it’s a problem because that’s kind of how the alocasia stingray looks. But more light will help it get more “straight”. I am attaching a photo of the grow light I have from Amazon- just in case.
Also, I have noticed that my alocasia stingray does not like drying out between waterings. I used to let it dry out between waterings, like I do most of my plants, but I started getting yellowing on the sides. I have found that keeping it moist and being consistent with watering keeps it really happy! Obviously not over water, but keep the soil pleasantly moist 🙂 That is my experience with this plant, I hope it helps in any way!
@Mimibaick and @AlmaMG thank you for the tips!!! Going to experiment a bit with leaving it outdoors and either letting it dry out or keeping the soil moist.
