@BlingBling Im not sure what it is though there are some flying insects that can dig into plant stems causing problems . Hopefully someone who knows what it is will identify so you know . I always think better safe than sorry . Good luck
Hi, we all know AI is not foolproof. But I used it on my phone. It says it is a Crane Fly βTipula.βHarmless to humans and plants, except possibly their larvae, which can be a problem for lawns. It says yours is Tipula fascipennis. Adults generally have a body length of 15β20Β mm. They are usually brown with clear or brownish wings. They feed on nectar and are active throughout the year. Tipula maggots are sometimes known as "leather jackets" due to their tough skin. If you donβt want them around, internet says they do not like Lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrass essential oils. Hope this helps and at least itβs a starting point for looking into it. π
