Is that a good or a bad guest?

Found this fella above my lavender plant. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantCorner #OutdoorGrowing
@BlingBling Im not sure what it is though there are some flying insects that can dig into plant stems causing problems . Hopefully someone who knows what it is will identify so you know . I always think better safe than sorry . Good luck
This won’t hurt your plants.
It reminds me of a mayfly. Most likely harmless
Hi, we all know AI is not foolproof. But I used it on my phone. It says it is a Crane Fly β€œTipula.”Harmless to humans and plants, except possibly their larvae, which can be a problem for lawns. It says yours is Tipula fascipennis. Adults generally have a body length of 15–20Β mm. They are usually brown with clear or brownish wings. They feed on nectar and are active throughout the year. Tipula maggots are sometimes known as "leather jackets" due to their tough skin. If you don’t want them around, internet says they do not like Lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrass essential oils. Hope this helps and at least it’s a starting point for looking into it. 😊
Harmless Crane Fly.
You guys don't have those in your areas? I got'm! Lol. We call them 'mosquito eaters'. But they don't actually eat mosquitoes.
@CaptainRedbeard No we do I didn’t know if it was harmless
When I first saw the picture I thought it was a fan🀣
They are pollinators and harmless to humans, animals or plants. They don't even drink our blood like the other small mosquitoes. Please don't kill them and instead gently show them the way out of your house. Thanks! 😊
