How to adapt my Mexican fan palm better to my climate?
#MexicanFanPalm #help #palm I know itβs definitely a challenge to try and grow a mexican fan palm in Clovis, NM in zone 7a/7b, but itβs been done in my city before. Right now Iβm just worried about the recent shipping stress Iβve seen the plant endure since it arrived last week. I know itβll take a bit to acclimate to my climate, but my main issue right now is that the moisture in the soil is evaporating much too quickly for the palms taste (dry summer heat) causing the center frond to start to curl and fold in. Another thing Iβve noticed too is some frond droop. Today I took some more measures, moving the palm into a more shady area, as well as putting the black plastic pot into a larger pot to avoid direct sun hitting it. Another thing I did was give the soil a decent watering this morning at 7, running water at a smooth trickle for about 5 minutes, as the soil and pot have crazy fast drainage. Iβm planning on repotting when I can, but I just need some advice on helping it to adapt better.
