Hello i have a pickle plant (senecio something) i have cut it and the callous has formed, i want to put it in dirt but then what? The internet says to keep the soil moist for 2-6 weeks i dont know what that means all I have is cactus soil, do i water everyday or? Please save victor the senecio from my incompetence #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove

Hi Kent, I don’t have a pickle plant- but here is what Google says about it- “freshly potted succulent propagations need a delicate balance to establish healthy roots. Water sparingly with a "soak and dry" method, ensuring the soil completely dries between waterings. Provide at least 4-6 hours of bright, indirect sunlight daily and keep them in a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. Key Care Steps for Propagated Pickle Plants: Watering: Because your cutting is newly potted and establishing roots, resist the urge to water too frequently. Water deeply until it runs out the bottom, then wait until the top couple of inches of soil are fully bone-dry before watering again. Overwatering is the easiest way to cause root rot. Light: Place the plant in a bright, sunny spot, such as a south- or east-facing windowsill. They need plenty of bright, indirect light to thrive, but protect them from harsh, direct afternoon sun which can scorch the tender new leaves. Soil & Drainage: Use a dedicated Cactus and Succulent Mix, blend with perlite or horticultural sand to guarantee excellent drainage. Ensure the pot has bottom drainage holes so the roots don't sit in stagnant water.
