Thoughts on no drainage for a lightly rooted #chonk?

I’ve traditionally exclusively used pots with drainage for already-rooted props. But I found this little glass jar today and thought it was cool! And I love that I can perfectly see inside to monitor the moisture level/roots.

Has anyone tried to grow a prop like this before? Did it end up working out okay? Or, should I transfer back to something that has drainage for this guy?

As long as you water very carefully you should be able to grow it in there for a little while (:
Just get a glass drill bit and fix it 🫣
@RJG do i look like a saturday morning home improvement show to you 😭
@hoyahead I feel like this is a trap. Yes?

@hoyahead I agree with @RJG on this.
I just started doing this as a transition between water and soil for my props. I'm using a combo of Starbucks cups and mason jars because some are really tall and some are really small πŸ˜‚

So far of the like 10ish I've done I have had 0 casualties and 3 or so already have new growth.
