Why are the tips turning white on staghorn ferns
I don't know why but my staghorn ferns tips are turning white even on older leaves should I be worried? It's been a week and I think it's spreading? #staghornfern #help #helpneeded #isthisnormal

@SpikeKing19 Hello ð Vincent! This is what I found out:
The whitish-gray trichomes on the leaf surface is normal for Common Staghorn Fern (Platycerium bifurcatum) and other Platycerium but if you see dark leaf tips appear they are due to a fungal issue , probably due to heavy, moisture retentive soil. Staghorn Ferns need air circulation around the roots as well as the entire plant. I know that garden centers often sell them planted in soil but I've always removed mine from pots and mounted them to wood.
