Droopy and Curled Leaves

Hello, I am new to gardening. I have 3 outdoor pots with a mixture of dusty miller, lobelia, and geraniums in each. I spot water the lobelia as to not over water the other two plants. Iโ€™ve noticed today that my dusty miller is looking quite anemic - limp soft leaves, droopy, and curled in. I gave it a small drink today as it has not been watered in a few days. Any suggestions as to what might be the cause? #DustyMiller
Hey! Iโ€™m a new gardener myself here, but my potted plants have been booming so far, so Iโ€™m wondering, has it been warm for you outside? Iโ€™ve read in one of RHS books (I think, at least), that potted plants outside need to be be watered frequently, when the weather is hot, even if it rained, just because their limited amount of soil dries out quite fast ๐Ÿค”
Iโ€™ve been drowning my pots, if not every day, than almost every second day, or third when the weather is wet, and no one complained so far ๐Ÿซฃ
I have petunias potted with bacopa and muhlenbekia, coreopsis, lavender and sage standing in the full sun rn. And even lavender and sage that are supposed to be drought-loving, canโ€™t do well without frequent and deep watering, when in pots. At least thatโ€™s how it is for me this year ๐Ÿค”
Take it with a grain of salt, Iโ€™m very much not a knowledgeable person, when it comes to gardening๐Ÿ˜ฌ but this has been my experience with containers this year ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿปfingers crossed for your babies to perk up!

Not so sure that a dusty miller, lobelia and geranium should share a pot. Dusty Miller's need sunlight. Lobelia are waterholics. Geraniums are another plant that needs a good deal of water without allowing the soil to stay moist. Dusty Miller's prefer it 5dry (except if it's just been planted). What do you think? I'm from Massachusetts and although dusty Millers are usually annuals here....mine survived winter and came back.
@FourstarSoybean Thanks so much for your input! It has been quite hot where I live - upwards of 40C/104F. I watered the plants last night and they perked up, so I definitely think it was a case of underwatering! I wish you luck on your plant venture as well ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š
@plantstate Wow! Your plants look gorgeous! I was gifted these plants by my mother-in-law who is quite the avid grower. Regarding the combination of plants, I really just relied on her experience as this is the first time Iโ€™ve really forayed in plants. Previously Iโ€™ve just tried to grow succulents, but Iโ€™ve always wound up failing them. I definitely plan on furthering my knowledge in plants and will hopefully make a more educated choice for the plants I pot together next time ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š
@cmoney666 Iโ€™m so glad they did! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ if Iโ€™m honest, I was kind of thrown into this whole gardening experience quite spontaneously, and started my little container plants without much planning, but isnโ€™t it so rewarding to see them perk back up to life in your care?)
I thought I had a black thumb, or had no interest in plants, pretty much my whole life, but Iโ€™m really enjoying keeping things alive and see them thrive this time ๐Ÿซ
And speaking of mothers in law being avid growers ๐Ÿคญ mine was kind of my guide into this whole planty debacle too ๐Ÿ˜‚

I also have no luck with succulents. After replacing and replacing, etc. the ones that wouldn't survive....I'll keep the succulents who like sharing my home....but it's houseplants ONLY from now on. Had luck with them for decades.
Also...as far as your mother-in-laws gifts (great lady!) do you have an outdoor patch of ground you could plant them in? Lobelia is a perennial and will return every spring.
